Description

Prunus serotina, 1-2', matures up to 80'. Prefers shade to full sun, acidic, moist, well-drained soil. The largest and most important native cherry.

Its valuable wood is commonly used in furniture and paneling. Its showy white flowers appear in early spring, followed by its fruit in late summer.
