Description

Betula alleghaniensis, 1-2', matures at 80' tall, partial shade to full sun, acidic, moist, well-drained soil. Yellow birch is the largest North American species of birch, typically living 150-300 years. It has a silver bronze bark with a yellow fall leaf color. The leaves give an odor of wintergreen when crushed.
