Description
Amelanchier arborea, 6-12", matures to 15-25'. Prefers shade to full sun, acidic, moist, well-drained soil. A four-season tree offering white flowers in the spring, small red berries in summer, excellent fall color, and gray bark in winter. Attracts many types of birds and wildlife with its summer berries and pollinators with its spring blooms. The berries are a favorite for jams, pies, and cobblers.
