Description
Salix purpurea, 2-3', matured to 10', Shade to full sun, moist-well-drained wet soils. Also known as the arctic or basket willow it is a fast-growing shrub. The twigs and buds are common forage for wildlife. Commonly used for stream bank stabilization. It is a male clone and does not reproduce. Does not pose a threat to spread.
